Chris Rock and Dave Chappelle join forces for California comedy tour
Actor and comedian Kevin Hart will be the opening act for Dave Chappelle’s new Los Angeles show, Chappelle’s Show, launching Sept. 29 at the L.A. Live Forum in Hollywood. Hart will take the stage on the first night of the show before bringing his “Kevin Hart: Let Me Explain” tour to Los Angeles on Sept. 29.
Rapper-comedian Rock will join Chappelle for two nights of stand-up at the Hollywood Palladium on Oct. 12 and 19, the venue announced on Monday. Rock’s special, “The Rocker,” is slated to premiere on Showtime on Thursday, Oct. 29. In addition to his stand-up sets, Rock will also do a special stage appearance.
Rock will take part in the NBC show’s “Comedy Death Match” and his set will be taped for subsequent broadcast. “Comedy Death Match” airs Mondays at 10 p.m. on NBC.
Hart, who has had a major television and film career that includes playing Dr. Drew Pinsky on the NBC comedy “Smash” for eight seasons and starring in “Bend It Like Beckham,” will open the show on Sept. 1.
Rock’s comedy tour will kick off in San Francisco on Sept. 29. The first date at the Palace Theatre in San Francisco will feature Rock performing a special “Rock With Rock N Roll” show with the legendary Billy Preston. The tour will then move to Sacramento on Oct. 9.
Tickets go on sale to the general public starting this Friday. The tour is part of Chappelle’s upcoming “Chappelle’s Show” special, which will premiere on Showtime on Oct. 29. The special, with all six shows filmed in front
