Hollywood loves to do love stories. From the moment a young man falls in love with a girl he doesn’t know a girl falls in love with him, as in the classic story of Romeo and Juliet. A new love story is created in a film or a musical. The movie or the musical becomes the story, and audiences are drawn to the characters.

So it should come as no surprise that Broadway artists have been drawn to Broadway movies for many years! Even now, when many movies are released, the lead actors on the New York stage appear in them.

I would suggest that every Broadway fan should make at least a couple of trips to the theater to see a show performed, and maybe one or two to the cinema for a movie. If you’ve already seen it, then the theater experience is enough, but if you’ve never seen it, you can always do one of the new theater experiences below. It’s fun and a lot of fun.

Here’s a list of some of my favorite movie actors to have seen playing Broadway roles. What attracted them and what did they do to get on Broadway?

Giancarlo Esposito as Frank in “The Producers” — I actually wasn’t looking forward to seeing “The Producers.” I’m a fan of the movie, and that’s why I wasn’t looking forward to seeing the movie. I wanted to see it because I love the book so much, and I wanted to see a great performance by Giancarlo Esposito. (I also like that he has a British accent and a British accent alone isn’t enough to draw me) But he did an amazing job. He showed an amazing range. He was the best actor in the show, and he actually won a Tony Award for this role.

Sam Rockwell as George in “George and Mildred” — I love Sam Rockwell, and I think he has a great range. When I saw this production, I immediately felt at home, because I instantly connected with this incredible actor, and I understood the story. He is such a great actor that he was able to make me understand why the character was so important to this great family, and also the story.
